The Refill Scheme: Made to be repoured
A good jar should never be single-use. We design our vessels for longevity, welcoming returning customers to bring empty containers back to our Bristol studio for fresh, hand-poured soy refills at a discounted price.
How our refill service works
Refilling is straightforward, reduces glassware waste, and allows you to enjoy fresh seasonal scents in the containers you already love.
Burn down and prepare your vessel
When approximately 10mm of wax remains at the bottom, stop burning. Carefully fill the jar with warm water to loosen residual wax, wipe the interior clean with a dry cloth, and remove the metal wick clip.
Drop off at Unit 7 in Old Market
Bring your clean container to our Bristol workshop on Thursdays between 10:00 and 16:00, or send us a message to arrange an alternative weekday drop-off.
Batch poured with fresh soy & scent
We secure a new lead-free cotton wick and pour fresh, plant-based soy wax blended with your chosen fragrance during our next studio batch pour.
Cured, ready for collection
Once the repoured candle has cured for optimal scent throw, we let you know your vessel is ready to collect from Unit 7.
Accepted vessels & drop-off terms
We refill all original Ember & Wick amber glass and ceramic vessels. If you have an alternative heat-resistant container from another maker or vintage find, bring it along to Unit 7 on Thursdays and we will inspect whether it is suitable for safe candle pouring.

Getting the longest, cleanest burn
Small-batch soy wax burns beautifully when treated with intention. Follow these simple practices to extend the life of your candle.
The First Burn Memory
Allow the melted wax pool to reach the outer glass edges during the first burn. This prevents tunneling and guarantees an even surface for future burns.
Trim to 5mm Before Relighting
Always pinch or trim the charred tip of the cotton wick to 5mm before lighting. A trimmed wick prevents mushrooming and eliminates black soot.
Controlled Burn Times
Burn your candle for 2 to 4 hours at a time. Extinguishing after the melt pool is established preserves the longevity of the botanical fragrance oils.
